In 1953, the Playboy magazine was masterminded by the one & only, Hugh Hefner. Playboy has since expanded & diversified to selling videos, network TV, online gambling, and clothing. Its generated revenue is $338.15 million as of 2005.

Love him or hate him, Hugh Hefner provides the ultimate example of successful branding.

Even if you would never purchase a product sold by Playboy, it’s undeniable that the brand is powerful and has lived a long and prosperous life.
